Developing a Model for Market-Centric Organization Analysis(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

تعداد بازدید : ۶۲۵ تعداد دانلود : ۶۹۵
The primary focus of the present study is to review organization analysis models from the standpoint of marketing and to propose an appropriate model for information centers and entities. A detailed literature review is made concerning marketing concepts, principles and services with respect to information organizations. The second stage deals with review and study of information entities, their goals, duties, structures and existing approaches. While many suggest a Norbert-Weiner model as the most appropriate for a flexible organization often represented by an information center, it does not totally the variety modes of services cape deployments available to such entity. Depending on their image representation in either physical space or web space or even service space, as many as four different models could be used for organizational analysis of essentially such a single entity. To develop a more unified model, we decided to study the marketing philosophies in such entities as a point of departure for corporate analysis. It was found that 27 factors should be considered in order to analyze a typical library or information entity from a marketing standpoint, regardless whether it is a passive or an active analysis. These include items like organization product range, customer convenience, people, synergic matrix, involvement and interconnection. Using Iranian Scientific Information and Documentation Center as the baseline, we were able to arrive at and verify a Market Mix Model that can effectively address such analysis and provide the information and library managers. Hence, it seems an effective tool for identifying not only the competitive advantage but potential challenge areas within their respective organizations.

This article investigates the financial convergence between Iran, OPEC & the Shanghai Organization trade groups, of which Iran is a member.  The analysis covers the period of 2005 to 2017.In order to examine the convergence dynamics of these financial markets; we have employed the Philips and Sul (2007) methodology, which uses a nonlinear time-varying factor model. This paper provides a comprehensive picture of the financial systems within Iran and its convergence clubs by testing the convergence of their money market with domestic credit to private sector by banks (% of GDP), deposit and lending interest rate, real interest rate, and capital market with Stocks traded, total value (% of GDP). The empirical findings show that money and stock markets of OPEC and the Shanghai group do not form a homogenous convergence club. Results show that Iran has convergence with some countries in OPEC and the Shanghai group in money and stock markets, which can be explained by their similar economic indicators in both markets. Furthermore, the convergence speed between Iran and the Shanghai countries is higher than that of Iran and OPEC countries, which proves that joint trade agreements are stronger reasons for convergence than the oil factor. Iran should implement further structural reforms in order to achieve greater financial convergence with its joined groups.

The world witnessed a change in the arrangement of international actors after the Second World War and the rise of international organizations in the international landscape. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) was one of these entities, acting as the UN specialized agency in maritime affairs. This study mainly aims at reviewing the regulatory role of the IMO, particularly the Port State Control (PSC) regime, by addressing its concept, as well as the legal basis and the control procedures. This mainly descriptive–inductive study describes and analyzes the legal bases of the PSC. Generally, IMO is identified with two types of functions: legislation and regulation. IMO’s regulatory function is reflected in two main tools, namely, the Audit Scheme of its Member States and Port State Control (PSC). With its supplementary nature, PSC is in fact an efficient maritime system for the safety and protection of the marine environment, encouraging states to watch for the safety of ships other than those flying their flags, especially those visiting their ports. This control system has led to an effective and efficient implementation of IMO rules and regulations.

This paper primarily aims to introduce a model to enhance the performance of the stock market portfolio of the Iran Social Security Organization. Performance indices were measured using documentary-based research and expert interviews based on theoretical saturation to evaluate the stock portfolio performance of the Iran Social Security Organization relative to companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange (T.S.E.) during 2016-2020. The Delphi technique was employed to ensure the validity of the indices. Drawing on the analytical hierarchy process (A.H.P.), the indices were prioritized and ranked based on the weight vector. The Iran Social Security Organization was found to have poor stock portfolio performance based on risk, return, liquidity, Sharpe ratio, and T.O.P.S.I.S. Hence, several solutions were identified based on expert interviews through thematic analysis to improve the stock portfolio performance of the Iran Social Security Organization. The solutions were validated through the Delphi technique, prioritizing and quantifying the performance improvement indices using the A.H.P. Based on expert views and T.O.P.S.I.S., a stock portfolio performance improvement model was proposed for the Iran Social Security Organization. Handling the non-profitable, low-return, and out-of-strategy companies is the optimal solution for the portfolio performance improvement of the I.S.S.O., with portfolio modification based on liquidity, effective stock market-making, return-based stock risk management, synergy between the portfolio and value chain completion, and value-added creation approach to stock management and exchange having the second-fifth ranks, respectively.

People are constrained by their culture and social life when telling stories. A second language learner then cannot be expected to tell stories in the target language without cross-cultural effects that influence the way of narration. The present study examined the role of the first language (L1) and second language (L2) in the organization of narratives by focusing on Persian speakers’ and EFL learners’ lived narratives. For this purpose, 125 oral stories were voice recorded. Seventy-five EFL learners’ narratives and 50 Persian narratives as told by Iranian native speakers were collected via classroom discussions and interviews. To examine the substantive effect of L2 knowledge, the EFL learners were selected from pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate proficiency levels. The Labovian analytical narrative model was employed for the analysis. The findings indicated that EFL learners’ narratives were mostly affected by L1 rather than L2. Limiting the scope of Maritime English (ME) courses to nautical subject matters, due to the conventional views who define ME as the global language used at sea, may not be based on a real needs analysis of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses in ports and maritime related organizations. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this study aimed to challenge this traditional perception through conducting an ESP needs analysis in Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran. All the 17 departments’ managers and/or their delegates were interviewed, then a researcher-made questionnaire which was developed according to the interviews was distributed among the experts (70 respondents). The deductive content analysis was used for analyzing the qualitative part, and the quantitative data were analyzed through descriptive statistics. It was revealed that the overall needs of PMO in terms of ESP does not concord with conventional nautical-based Maritime English courses, and it in fact encompasses a much wider variety of content areas such as “port economic, marketing and investment, legal, tariffs, agreements and contracts, education, research, strategic port administration, logistics” etc.

Because of the many geopolitical potentials and communicational capabilities of ECO region, members could expand the convergency based on this organization which plays a key part in development of members and expandsion of peace and security. Due to studying the effective factors of Regional Organizations (ROs), particularly those of ECO, it seems that the resultant of internal and external regional forces fails to empower ECO members’ integration, but with a review of other successful ROs, it is revealed that they have a process mechanism which strengthens convergent forces and mitigates the divergent ones with institutionalized tools and active positive diplomacy. Based on qualitative analysis conducted on desk and in interview with geopolitical experts; this study seeks to answer the question: what are the effective factors of formation and evolution of ROs in general and those of ECO in particular? The results of the research indicate that creating a regional consciousness and a common understanding of capabilities and geopolitical values in ECO region has failed to reach maturity. The structure of competition between members represents the lack of regional common understanding on these values. Despite the progress, the evolution of structural and organizational development of ECO and its essential documents; the weakness of policy to create coordination in multilateral diplomacy, the weakness of domestic political institutions, the weakness of organizational structure, especially in staff and technical expertise, and eventually incompetency of organization and human resources, especially in the Secretariat, have caused many inefficiencies and structural weaknesses in ECO.

In twentieth century, especially during the Cold War era, the two ideas of Nationalism and Internationalism were the main competitor approaches in different schools of thought in the field of international studies. However, global integration between states and nations from economic, cultural, and communicational aspects has created a new magnificent world which is more integrated and the interests of political units are more incorporated. Based on this new world order, the major rival trends in the world arena are two recent dominant approaches of globalism and regionalism. The appearance of the successful regionalism regimes in Europe and also in the South East Asian region while they have tried to keep their correlations with the global trends, have prepared a suitable model for other regions to construct regional unities in a globalized framework. This paper aims to examine one of the most important issues in the SCO region - the exploration and transportation of energy - in the framework of regionalism and globalism approaches. Regarding to this matter, the outlook of the energy cooperation between the SCO countries and the position of the other powerful players in the region will be analyzed. The opportunities and challenges confronted with the producers and consumers of this strategic commodity to achieve energy security in this region also will be discussed
