حوزه‌های تخصصی:
تعداد بازدید : ۳۵۷ تعداد دانلود : ۳۳۴
Background: Media content plays a significant role in shaping behaviors, attitudes, and lifestyle choices, especially among children, a demographic that is highly impressionable and actively engaged with various media platforms.Aims: This article explores the role of media literacy in equipping children to critically evaluate media content that promotes unhealthy lifestyles, including poor dietary choices, sedentary behavior, celebrity worship and unrealistic body ideals.Methodology: This study employs a qualitative approach, synthesizing data from case studies, government reports, and peer-reviewed academic literature to explore the role of media literacy in fostering healthy lifestyle choices among children.Findings: The findings indicate that current media literacy education programs for children are insufficient, largely because they often fail to include parental education. Parents play a pivotal role as mediators of children’s media consumption, and their active participation in media literacy education strengthens the impact of such interventions. The article argues for an integrated media literacy curriculum targeting both children and parents to create a more comprehensive understanding of healthy lifestyle practices and critical media engagement. Recommendations for policy, educational frameworks, and family-centered interventions are proposed to address these gaps. Conclusions: We emphasize the importance of a holistic approach to media literacy that includes all involved people and bodies in promoting healthier lifestyle choices among children.

Infertility is a health problem that affects about 10-15% of couples worldwide. Infertility is defined as the inability of couples to successfully conceive a child after one year of unprotected sex. The causes of infertility are often not easily identified. However, this disorder appears to be due to genetic or environmental factors, some of which may be modifiable and may be considered as a treatment option. The use of emerging infertility treatment technologies has been somewhat effective. However, these methods are very expensive and, in some cases, their success rate is relatively low. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to several disorders such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and conditions such as obesity. Obesity can have a negative effect on the fertility of couples. Overall, it seems that changing the sedentary lifestyle and increasing physical activity by performing regular exercise training can enhance the chances of fertility. However, it should be noted that strenuous exercise training has a negative effect on fertility.

For over two decades, the ‘information revolution’ in the Middle East has been framed overwhelmingly in terms of media, more of it, and in comparisons to mass media – from the advent of any-to-any communication to ad hoc conceptualizations such as ‘crowd-sourcing’ or ‘citizen journalism’ – that register the multiplication of voices, channels and eroding boundaries in spheres of communication. The record has expanded more than conceptualizations of its sociologies in media and communications studies. It’s time for other questions that elicit additional and more basic features of Internet practices from choices that shape individual repertoires and participation to continuities between users and producers to how actual practices scale up, which actually link micro and macro processes. To elicit these broader sociologies, and move beyond the limited social physics of ‘impact’ of the Internet on culture and lifestyles, I draw on the related sociologies of reference group and network theory, on Science-Technology-Society studies and sociolinguistics to bring disruption of existing institutions, on the one hand, and cooptation by them, on the other, into more unified theory of the play of information revolution in culture and lifestyles on the Internet.

Objective: Patients with Ménière's often experience multiple psychological problems and are not satisfied with the results of medication therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) on anxiety, lifestyle, and experiential avoidance in patients with Ménière's disease.  Method: The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up approach. The statistical population comprised all patients diagnosed with Ménière's disease who sought treatment at the specialized ear clinic affiliated with Mashhad Medical Sciences Hospital between January and March 2023. From this population, 30 patients meeting the inclusion criteria were selected using an oriented sampling method. Participants were randomly assigned to a CBT intervention group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 15). Data collected at three time points—pre-intervention, post-intervention, and 30 days after the intervention—using the Smith Lifestyle Questionnaire, Bond Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire, and the Anxiety subscale of the DASS-21. The data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: The results indicated a significant reduction in anxiety levels in the CBT group compared to the control group in both the post-test and follow-up assessments (P < 0.05). Additionally, a significant improvement was observed in lifestyle scores in the CBT group relative to the control group (P < 0.05). The difference in experiential avoidance between the two groups was also statistically significant (P < 0.05).  Conclusion: The findings suggest that cognitive-behavioral therapy is effective in reducing anxiety and experiential avoidance while improving lifestyle in patients with Ménière's disease. These results underscore the potential of CBT as an adjunctive treatment in managing the psychological and lifestyle-related challenges associated with Ménière's disease.

Motivation to change lifestyle during adolescence plays an important role in promoting physical and mental health. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of self-determination in the relationship between parental perceptions and adolescents' motivation to change their lifestyle. This study is descriptive-correlational and is an applied research type. The statistical population included all students aged 12 to 18 in Ardakan city in the academic year 2022-23, from which 301 were selected using convenience sampling. Data collection tools included questionnaires on demographic information, parental perceptions (Robbins et al., 1994), self-determination (Dessey & Ryan, 1985), and adolescent lifestyle change motivation (Gard, Rivano, & Grahn, 2005). Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The results showed that the research conceptual model has a good fit. Mother and father perceptions had a significant effect on self-determination, and self-determination mediated the relationship between parental perceptions and motivation to change lifestyle. However, the direct relationship between father perception and motivation for lifestyle change was not significant. These findings emphasize the decisive role of self-determination as a psychological mechanism in the process of influencing parenting styles on adolescents' intrinsic motivation and indicate the importance of paying attention to the way parents interact in psychoeducational interventions. Conclusion: The findings of this study emphasize the importance of the role of self-determination as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between parental perceptions and the motivation to change lifestyle in adolescents.

SUBJECT & OBJECTIVES:  The analysis of the nature, characteristics, and differences of modern spiritualism with religious spirituality can be considered as one of the most important challenges and problems that have faced spirituality and mysticism. Today, the confrontation between modern spirituality and religious spirituality has become very colourful, such that modern spirituality seeks to discredit and contradict religious spirituality. Therefore, they mainly seek to present non-religious spirituality based on the inefficiency of religious spirituality. From the perspective of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khāmeneī, religious spirituality is a ‘Revolutionary’ spirituality, which is equivalent to Jihadi spirituality, characterized by civilization, justice, revolution, epic, liberation from domination, martyrdom, and progressivism, as evident in his statements.METHOD & FINDING:  Using the analytical-descriptive method, the findings of the research indicate that the practical functions of Islamic spirituality based on the thought of the Supreme Leader combining the triad ‘spirituality, rationality, justice’ in the individual and family arena (lifestyle) are: prosperity and happiness, scientific growth, security, comfort and well-being, hope, independence and freedom, honour and dignity, Justice, financial well-being, heart luminosity which lead towards ‘good life.’CONCLUSION:  In the Islamic spirituality of Ayatollah Khāmeneī, the unity of materiality and spirituality is very prominent. In his careful inference, the way to achieve spirituality in the personal and family spheres is crucial, encompassing both worldly and material life, while it is considered the main pillar of leading a pure, Quranic life.
