The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between EFL teachers’ self-regulatory trait and effective teaching. Furthermore, the study aimed to find out the relationship between EFL teachers’ self-regulatory trait with some demographics such as gender and years of teaching experience. The participants were 85 EFL male and female teachers between the age ranges of 27 to 52. In addition, 200 male and female high school students between the age ranges of 15 to 17 participated in this study. Self-regulatory trait of the teachers was explored through Teacher Self-regulation Scale (TSR) questionnaire and the qualities of successful Iranian EFL teachers were explored through Qualities of Successful Iranian EFL Teachers’ Questionnaire (QSIET). Empirical analysis revealed that no significant relationship existed between teachers' gender and their self-regulatory trait. However, a significant relationship was found between teachers' self-regulatory trait and years of teaching. The implications of this study can be practical and useful for EFL teachers, who eagerly try to improve their teaching qualifications as well as teacher-training courses. The findings can be also helpful for language teaching designers to design proper syllabuses and materials for language teaching.

Furthermore, the relationship between Iranian EFL teacher’s life satisfaction and their empathy was investigated. To achieve these objectives, a group of 245 male and female Iranian EFL teachers with the age range of 20 to 55 years old participated. Data were collected through Life Satisfaction and Empathy Questionnaires. Results revealed that EFL teachers were satisfied with their life and were empathic teachers. Moreover, a significant relationship was found between these two variables. The main conclusion is that life satisfaction can have positive impacts on certain aspects of life; hence, it is recommended that proper conditions be provided for the EFL teachers. Additionally, having empathy with students may create happiness in both students and the teacher. Such happiness can presumably make the student bear a positive perspective towards language learning, thereby making them more motivated to learn English.

Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the components and dimensions of effective art education teaching. Methodology: This research is an applied-developmental study in terms of its objective and a non-experimental (descriptive) study in terms of data collection method, utilizing a cross-sectional survey approach. A qualitative research design was employed to achieve the research objective. The qualitative participant community included professors, teachers, school administrators, and art education specialists in Iraq, selected through purposive sampling. Ultimately, theoretical saturation was achieved after 10 interviews. The qualitative validity was evaluated and confirmed based on Lincoln and Guba's four criteria of credibility, transferability, confirmability, and dependability from the reviewers' perspective. The reliability of the coding of the conducted interviews was estimated using Holsti's coefficient at 0.712, which is considered acceptable. For data analysis, the grounded theory method was utilized in MAXQDA software, and with the extraction of the main and sub-categories of the research, the final model was presented. Findings: In the present study, the components and dimensions of effective art education teaching were identified to provide a model for art education teachers in Iraq. A total of 210 initial codes were extracted from the interview texts. Through coding, eight concepts and 45 sub-categories were identified, and by classifying these themes into similar categories, eight main categories were recognized. Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, the paradigmatic model of the research was determined. Causal conditions, including educational content, factors related to the teacher, and teaching style, affect the central phenomenon, which is effective art education teaching. This component, along with contextual conditions, including educational infrastructure and intervening conditions, such as the status of art in society, leads to strategies and actions, including educational policymaking, resulting in the outcome of drafting the art curriculum charter in Iraq.

The present study was an attempt, in the first place, to observe whether there was any significant relationship among teachers’ critical thinking, self-efficacy, and perception of effective teaching. Moreover, the researchers tried to examine which variable was a better predictor of perception of effective teaching. To this end, the measures of the critical thinking ability of 143 EFL teachers were obtained using Honey’s (2000) Critical Thinking Questionnaire(adopted from Naieni, 2005). Also, their sense of efficacy was estimated utilizing Tschannen-Moran and Hoy’s (2001) Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale. Moreover, their perception of effective teaching was determined employing Bell’s (2005) Effective Teaching Questionnaire. The results revealed a statistically significant relationship between both critical thinking and self efficacy of teachers and their perception of effective teaching. However, only two of the components of critical thinking, namely analysis and evaluation, were correlated with perception of effective teaching. Also, critical thinking components had a significant relationship with perception of effective teaching components. Additionally, it was found that there was a positive relationship between all components of self efficacy and perception of effective teaching and its components. Finally, the regression analysis showed that self efficacy was a better predictor of teachers’ perception of effective teaching in comparison with critical thinking though the margin of difference was not that large. This study has implications for the EFL teacher preparation and education programs.

The results showed the following perceptions of EFL teachers of reflective skills of Iranian EFL effective teachers: 1. Behaving in a socially acceptable manner; 2. Being able to motivate students; 3. Managing classroom; 4. Attending to students' diversity of needs; 5. Planning appropriate teaching and evaluation methods and strategies; etc. Moreover, according to the results, the least important reflective skills of Iranian EFL effective teachers were attending to students' diversity of needs, and being able to motivate students.
