حوزههای تخصصی:
Purpose: Most couples face communication problems in their marital life. Disturbing relationships have devastating effects on their physical and social performance. Methodology: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of communication imaging therapy (IMG therapy) with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on the mental health of couples. Method: The research method was semi-experimental with pre-test, after-test, control and follow-up two months. The statistical population of this study consisted of all couples referring to counseling centers located in 6th district of Tehran in 1965-96. By using available sampling, 90 people were randomly selected and randomly assigned to three groups of 30 people. They responded to the Mental Health Questionnaire in three stages (Goldberg, 1972). The groups received 8 sessions of Ninety-minute training in association with treatment and admission therapy (ACT), and did not receive an interventional control. Findings: The results showed a significant decrease in the mental health score in the experimental group compared with the control group in the post-test and follow up stage. Since the implementation of the intervention training of communication imaging therapy therapy (EMG) with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) Mental health of couples is influential. Discussion: these couple therapy approaches can be used as a useful strategy for creating coherence and creating a conscious relationship to the interaction of mental elements to improve couples' relationships.
The Effectiveness of Commitment and Acceptance Therapy and Life Skill Interventions on Problem-Solving Style and Relationship Beliefs in Male Divorce Applicants with Worry Symptoms(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and life skill intervention on problem-solving style and relationship beliefs in male divorce applicants with worry symptoms. A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design were used in this research with two experimental groups and one control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all male divorce applicants who referred to Iranmehr Counseling Center in Aliabad Katoul in 2018. The convenience sampling method was used to select samples from people who responded positively to the call, among whom 45 men were selected with scores higher than the mean on the Penn State Worry scale (1990), and randomly divided into two experimental groups and one control group (each group consisted of 15 people). Data were analyzed using SPSS-24 software and one-way and multivariate analysis of covariance. The research findings showed that life skill training (problem-solving) had a significant effect on problem-solving style and relationship beliefs and its subscales (P<0.05). ACT intervention also had a significant effect on both variables and their subscales (P<0.05). As a result, it can be stated that ACT and life skill interventions are effective on problem-solving style and relationship beliefs in male divorce applicants with worry symptoms.

Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and progressive nervous system disease. The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) on the psychosocial adjustment to illness and expanded disability of multiple sclerosis patients.
Method: This research was a pretest-posttest controlled quasi-experimental study with a three-month and six-month follow-up. The research population was comprised of all MS patients in Tehran in 2021. Using the purposeful sampling method, 60 people were selected and randomly assigned to ACT and CBT experimental groups and the control group. Drogits' (1986) Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale (PAIS) and expanded disability status scale (EDSS) were used to collect data. The ACT group received eight 120-minute sessions, the CBT group received eight one-hour sessions, and no intervention was provided for the control group. Covariance analysis and post hoc tests were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results demonstrated that ACT had a higher effect than CBT in enhancing psychosocial adjustment to illness (P=0.024) and reducing expanded disability (P=0.024), which has been constant in the follow-up stages.
Conclusion: In general, both ACT and CBT interventions significantly improved the psychosocial adjustment to illness and reduced the expanded disability of MS patients. However, it is suggested that professionals use ACT intervention for more effectiveness.
The Role of Psychological Flexibility, Acceptance, and Commitment in Marital Adjustment Among Couples(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The present study aimed to determine the role of psychological flexibility, acceptance, and commitment in marital adjustment among couples. Method: This study was applied and descriptive-correlational in nature. The population included couples (both women and men) from Amol County, who were studied using a convenience sampling method involving 126 couples. Data were collected using the Cognitive Flexibility Inventory by Dennis and Vander Wal (2010), the second version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire by Bond et al. (2007), and the Spanier Dyadic Adjustment Scale (1976). For the analysis of data in the inferential statistics section, simultaneous multiple regression was conducted using SPSS version 21. Findings: The findings indicate that psychological flexibility, acceptance, and commitment can explain 16.9% of the variance in marital adjustment. The t-tests for significance in regression for the coefficient of psychological flexibility (β = 0.191) and acceptance and commitment (β = 0.285) were significant. Acceptance and commitment have a greater unique contribution in predicting marital adjustment among couples (α = 0.05). Conclusion: According to the results, the most significant influences on marital adjustment are acceptance and commitment, followed by psychological flexibility. It is recommended that the findings of this research be utilized to enhance marital adjustment among both women and men.
