Constructing and Validating a Questionnaire of Factors Affecting Victimization in Cyberspace in Teenage Girls(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Purpose: The present study aimed to constructing and validating a questionnaire of factors affecting victimization in cyberspace in teenage Girls. Methods and Materials: The research employed a mixed-methods approach, specifically an exploratory sequential design and a tool development model. Initially, in the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted with adolescent girls who had experienced cybervictimization at the secondary school level, as well as their parents, in Isfahan, Iran. Participants were purposefully selected, and data saturation was achieved after interviewing eight adolescents, followed by interviews with their parents. The qualitative analysis was performed using the Colaizzi method and MaxQDA software. The factors influencing cybervictimization from the perspectives of both adolescents and parents were identified, which led to the development of an initial questionnaire for the quantitative phase. The quantitative phase used a survey method, and a sample of 384 female students from secondary schools in districts 3, 4, and 6 of Isfahan, studying in the academic year 2023-2024, was selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. After a preliminary trial with 45 students, the questionnaire was administered to the main sample to evaluate its validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using LISREL 7 and SPSS 28 software. The content validity of the questionnaire was assessed by experts, and construct validity was determined through confirmatory factor analysis. Analysis of Sexual Health of Adolescents Living in Residential Centers Based on Experts' Opinions(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the sexual health of adolescents living in residential centers based on the opinions of experts in the city of Isfahan. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using thematic analysis. The participants included sexual health experts from the city of Isfahan, selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. These individuals were examined using semi-structured interviews, and data saturation was achieved with 10 interviews. Findings: After data analysis and coding, 94 initial codes, 11 axial codes, and 4 core codes were extracted. The core codes included the experience of negative emotions, various sexual disorders, experiences of neglect and rejection in the environment, and incorrect sexual upbringing. The axial codes were classified as feelings of hatred towards one's body due to sexual exploitation and income, belief in one's own badness due to sexual abuse, sexual problems of abused adolescents, inclination towards same-sex attraction, confusion about sexual orientation, sexual abuse of adolescents living in centers, lack of proper sexual education in the adolescents' families, inability to protect oneself due to the absence of support in situations of sexual abuse, compensating for rejection through non-committal sexual-emotional relationships, sexual vulnerability related to insecure attachment, and incorrect sources of sexual information. Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that adolescents living in residential centers face sexual health problems. It is recommended that psychologists and supervisors of these centers use the findings of this study to improve the sexual health of adolescents.

The Process of Meaning Formation in Adolescents: A Grounded Theory(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Objective: The present study aimed to explore the process of meaning formation in adolescents. Methods: The research method was qualitative and utilized a grounded theory approach. The research population consisted of adolescents aged 12–20 years in Isfahan, Iran. Sampling was conducted theoretically. Nine participants were included in the study, and data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews. The data analysis process followed Glaser's (1987) methodology. At the end of the coding stages, the final model of the study was presented. Findings: The results revealed that meaning formation in adolescents occurs through five stages: the occurrence of conflict (a triggering event), expression of conflict (problematic coping with a painful and damaging context, emotional confusion, and protesting against meaning), confrontation with conflict (addressing unclear feelings, focusing on core pain (self-awareness), and developing acceptance capacity), processing conflict (recalling the experience, exploring, expanding and deepening, gaining insight into unmet needs, and processing and accepting one's and others' experiences), and the emergence of resolution and achieving integration (softening and adopting a new perspective, manifesting agency (decision-making), generating experience, and integrating with prior experiences). Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be inferred that meaning formation in adolescents occurs as a process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the journey toward finding meaning is not a fixed or instantaneous event but a continuous and evolving process shaped by various experiences and reflections. This process unfolds as a series of interrelated stages, reflecting a dynamic and transformative approach to navigating and understanding significant life changes. This structured delineation of stages provides valuable insights into how individuals actively engage with and create meaning when encountering transformative moments.
