چکیده
منطقه گروس به عنوان یکی از کانون های کمترشناخته شده غرب ایران، در پیوند جریان های اقتصادی، فرهنگی و نظامی فلات مرکزی، آذربایجان و بین النهرین نقش محوری ایفا کرده است. این پژوهش با هدف تبیین جایگاه راهبردی گروس در شبکه های تجاری و تحلیل کارکردهای چندگانه اقتصادی، نظامی و فرهنگی آن، با روش توصیفی-تحلیلی و با اتکا به منابع کتابخانه ای و اسناد تاریخی سامان یافته است. یافته های پژوهش نشان می دهد که موقعیت طبیعی گروس، شامل دشت های حاصلخیز، ارتفاعات و منابع آبی، بستر مناسبی برای شکل گیری مسیرهای کاروانی و مراکز بازرگانی بوده است. این منطقه نه تنها به عنوان گذرگاه کالاهایی چون ابریشم، ادویه و فرآورده های دامی عمل می کرد، بلکه به دلیل استقرار در مسیرهای تجاری، کانون تبادلات فرهنگی و تعاملات قومی بود. همچنین، قلعه ها و استحکامات طبیعی گروس، امکان نظارت بر شریان های ارتباطی را فراهم می ساخت. این پژوهش در نهایت گروس را به عنوان یک «گره گاه ارتباطی» در تاریخ ایران معرفی می کند که کارکردهای فراتر از یک مسیر تجاری صرف داشته است.Garrus: An Analysis of the Role of a Historical Corridor in the Economic and Cultural Link between Northwestern and Western Iran
The region of Garrus, one of the lesser-known areas of western Iran, has played a pivotal role in connecting the economic, cultural, and military networks of the Iranian Plateau, Azerbaijan, and Mesopotamia. This study aims to elucidate the strategic position of Garrus within commercial networks and to analyze its multifaceted economic, military, and cultural functions. Employing a descriptive–analytical method based on library sources and historical documents, the research highlights the region’s natural features—including fertile plains, highlands, and abundant water resources—as key factors in the development of caravan routes and trading centers. Garrus functioned not only as a transit point for goods such as silk, spices, and livestock products but also as a hub of cultural exchange and interethnic interaction due to its location along major trade routes. Furthermore, its fortresses and natural strongholds provided control over vital communication arteries. Ultimately, the study identifies Garrus as a "connective hub" in Iranian history—one whose significance extended far beyond that of a mere trade route.
