چکیده
بررسی مسئله ی شر در اندیشه ی بارکلی (Berkeley) موضوعی پیچیده و درعین حال اساسی است. عدم وضوح و پراکندگی در تعریف، سبب ابهام در درک دقیق اندیشه ی بارکلی شده است. در این مقاله، با استفاده از روش تحلیلی توصیفی و با تکیه بر مبانی وجودشناسانه ی بارکلی، تلاش شده است تا پاسخ های بارکلی به مسئله ی شر به دقت بررسی گردد. بارکلی طی تلاش برای خوانشی متمایز از مسئله ی شر، آن را نه به عنوان حقیقتی مستقل، بلکه برگرفته از نوعی ارزش داوری انسانی تعبیر کرده است. بارکلی شریرانگاشتن افراد و شردانستن افعال را نتیجه ی نقص شناخت انسان از حقیقت دانسته و آن را برگرفته از محدودیت های ذهنی انسان می داند. این مقاله بر آن است تا نشان دهد بارکلی با بهره گیری از اصول ایدئالیسم خود، چگونه مسئله ی شر را تبیین کرده و از این منظر، چه راه حلی برای تناقضات رایج در اندیشه های دینی و فلسفی ارائه می کند.Examining the Problem of Evil in Berkeley’s Thought
The problem of evil in Berkeley’s thought is a complex yet fundamental issue. The lack of clarity and dispersion in its definition has led to ambiguity in understanding Berkeley’s thought accurately. In this article, using an analytical-descriptive method and relying on Berkeley’s metaphysical foundations, an attempt has been made to carefully examine Berkeley’s responses to the problem of evil. In his effort to provide a distinct version of the problem of evil, Berkeley does not regard evil as an independent fact but rather as derived from a form of human value judgment. He considers the labeling of individuals as evil and the classification of actions as evil to be the result of human cognitive limitations and mental constraints. This article aims to demonstrate how Berkeley, by utilizing the his principles of idealism, explains the problem of evil and, from this perspective, offers a solution to the common contradictions in the religious and philosophical doctrines.
