INTRODUCTION: Natural disasters in rural settlements are responsible for a broad range of financial and human losses. In this regard, the resilience approach has gained renewed attention to minimize the disruptive impacts of natural catastrophes. Therefore, adequate knowledge about the status of resilience enables us to take efficient measures to reduce resultant injuries and destructive effects. With this background in mind, the current study aimed to investigate the relationship between economic and socio-cultural resilience of rural settlements in Silakhor rural district in Dorud. METHODS: This practical study was conducted based on an analytical-descriptive design. The statistical population included 1539 earthquake-stricken households of Silakhor village (according to household information from the 2016 Census). Out of this population, 308 families were selected as the sample size using the Cochran's formula. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts, and its reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha method rendering the coefficients of 0.910 and 0.854 for the economic and socio-cultural dimension, respectively. One-Sample T-Test and Pearson correlation were used to examine the status of resilience and the relationship between economic resilience and socio-cultural resilience. FINDINGS: As evidenced by the obtained results, rural settlements were socio-culturally resilient with the mean score of >3, while they were somewhat resilient in the economic dimension with the mean score of nearly 3. CONCLUSION: The results of the Pearson correlation pointed to a positive and significant relationship between economic and social resilience with a correlation coefficient of 0.420 and a significance level of P<0.00.

Over time, both Iran and Russia have confronted a series of sanctions targeting their economic and financial sectors. In response to the adverse effects of these sanctions, both nations have embraced a strategy of 'resistance.' Experts contend that financial and economic sanctions induce substantial shifts in a country's macroeconomic landscape, prompting the adoption of distinct policies and strategic orientations. Against this backdrop, this research undertakes a comprehensive examination and analysis of the discourses surrounding economic resistance and resilient economies in Iran and the Russian Federation, with a focus on elucidating their commonalities and disparities. The research methodology employed in this study is the SWOT analysis method. Findings reveal that both Iran and Russia, while contending with Western sanctions, have pursued the implementation of resilient economy and economic resistance strategies, respectively. In this study, we make an effort to look at the Resilience of Islamic banks across Pakistan along with how particular banking variables influence their resilience. The data set used for this study is made up of Pakistani Islamic banks from 2015 to 2021. Employing the VOLARE index, it is apparent that Meezan Bank has higher resilience compared to other Islamic banks. Regression approaches were additionally used to assess the association between banking-specific variables and bank resilience. Given that the bulk of Islamic banks have witnessed gains in recent years, the bank size showed a positive and substantial relationship in the estimation. Additionally, as prudential laws have been strengthened by the state bank of Pakistan, the capital adequacy ratio and leverage ratio also found significant and beneficial connections in the model's results. Nevertheless, the regression analysis demonstrated an adverse relationship between the leverage ratio, the non-performing loan ratio, and inflation. This study offers information that will help practitioners, scholars, and researchers to strengthen the economic and financial sources regarding the resilience of Islamic institutions.
