Architecture as a designerly way of thinking and knowing is to interact with its environment. The manuscript is to speculate “interactive form-generation” based on high-performance architecture theory, and discuss the precursors and the potentials. The research aims to explore and determine the roots, aspects of interactive architecture as a part of performance-based design in contemporary architecture. The research question opens a designerly perspective as an umbrella term that can include many streams of architectural paradigms. Emancipatory new-interpretivism is the research philosophy which is employed alongside deductive reasoning, logical argumentation research paradigm, descriptive research method and cross-sectional study. Based on methodology of the manuscript, the research is to addresses related phenomena, their relationship and interaction. The results of the research show that interactive architecture is an umbrella to address a wide-range of architectural emerging streams such as: 1- The evolutionary architectural trends include kinetics, responsive, smart, responsive and intelligent environment. 2- The emerging phenomena in the field such as leading sci-tech approach toward architectural design process including cybernetics, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN), and agent based modeling. The conclusion of the research indicates that the interactive architecture branched off from high-performance architecture theory. The conclusion emphasizes on: 1- Designerly flexibility: better space efficiency, flexibility, intelligence, and smartness; 2- Energy efficient form-generation: using less energy and offering more thermal-visual comfort; 3- Mathematical-algorithmic thinking: the integration of internet of things (IoT), robotics, and kinetics. 4- Futurism: a platform for outlining future architecture and architecture of the future.

This article is about the comparative study of symbol in architecture and contemporary Seljuk tombs in Iran. Art is one of the arts associated with various sciences and science concepts, and various features of footprints can be seen. The signs and symbols of architectural buildings and monuments can be helpful. especially for the beauty of motifs and composition, and roles and indications suggest deep thinking and high precision. For example, some architectonic art harmony such as symmetry, proportionality, balance, balance, matching, agreement, similarity, consistency, alignment, and equality are noted. The main question is whether there are similarities and differences between the use of the symbol and sign in the works of the monuments of the two periods of Seljuk and contemporary Iran? The aim of study is to study the architectural monuments of two architectural periods in Iran, with reference to types of signs and symbols of presenting the classification of the places of application of symbols and signs in architectural works. The methodology of this research is based on library studies and existing documents, and the gathering of data and deductions from the issues raised in relation to various types of symbols and signs, its application in the contemporary Seljuk and contemporary Iranian architecture, and research on similar examples. Finally, studying the research of other scholars, compares the architecture of the Seljuk and contemporary period of the Iranian monument with, the perspective of differences, similarities, the use of symbols and signs in the context of architecture.

The s tudy methodology is a mixed research method that is contextual and semantic in terms of the data's nature; in terms of the logic of thinking, the s tudy method is deductive, and in terms of the analysis levels, it is analytical-interpretive. The selected s trategy of this research is grounded theory, with the preliminary analyses (qualitative research method) being conducted based on S trauss and Corbin's sys tematic coding using MaxQDA software. Then, in the second s tage, the importance coefficients of the topics extracted from semi-s tructured interviews were analyzed using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) using Expert Choice Software. The research findings indicate that mos t of the respondents find "recognition and creation of emotional bond through the use of the pas t generations'' memories" and "the neighborhood's his torical form and shape" as two selectable solutions and, of course, in the authors'' minds, considering the population growth and increase in the demands for new houses in the intended texture and, consequently, increase in the number of cons tructions and the change in the city's countenance, these solutions seem to be somewhat illogical. "The necessity for amending the urban and regional criteria and regulations," and also, "enhancing the awareness of the designers and the area's addressees," and, subsequently, "reducing the influence of the designers'' tas tes" are the other factors that seem to be more widely applicable for they can prevent the emergence of visual abnormalities on the façades to a large extent.

The meaning of city based on Ludwig Wittgenstein's philosophy from contemporary and historical architecture (case study: Semnan city)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The insights of Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein can be useful in understanding the intricate dynamics of contemporary architecture and urban life and juxtaposing various facets of modernity and historical context. In his text, 20th-century modernism, which focuses on logic, modernity, technology, and spiritual matters, is intelligible. Wittgenstein was an analytic philosopher who believed in the correspondence between the real world, thought, and language. This study aims to analyze Wittgenstein's opinions and uses them to define a conceptual model that includes four components: Logic, avoidance of psychologism, viewing from the perspective of eternity, and modernity. The components are divided into ten subcomponents in architecture: Logic, usefulness, function, style, decorations, transcendence, positive feelings, tolerance, modernity, and technology. There was a focus on six cases, three historical buildings, and three contemporary ones in Semnan. Two questionnaires for citizens and experts have been prepared, and a field study has been implemented after the validity assessment. Then, the results of the questionnaires were entered into the data bank in IBM SPSS and were analyzed and compared. The findings show that three of the ten model variables, attention to excellence, creating a positive feeling, and a positive approach to technology, are ranked higher than the other variables, with an importance of nearly 80%. The acceptability of all three historical buildings is higher than the three contemporary buildings in both groups of citizens and experts, but the difference is much greater among experts.
